My name is Stacey Edwards. I am a wife, a mom and a pediatric emergency room nurse by profession.
After losing over 80 pounds through diet modifications and exercise alone, I found exercise not only as a lifestyle change but a hobby and real passion. I adapted a new way of life of helping others see my passion. I have been blessed with the ability to challenge my body physically on a daily basis and to watch my body overcome obstacles. I will be challenging my body like never before. It is now my turn to give back.
A year ago I heard about Venture, an organization that benefits children through food security, education, and discipleship who would otherwise go without. Being a pediatric trauma nurse, my next response was where do I sign up?!
As, I sacrifice physically and financially, I ask for your love and support as well. I will ride for those who go without. My route changed at the end of March, from reasons beyond my control, God had a different plan, my route went from an Across America tour to a tour that would include a 500mile bike through 3 states and a 100 mile run through 2 countries and 3 state lines. I continue to ask for your love and support!
I will be joining a team of individuals to raise funds and awareness for Venture’s projects in Southeast Asia serving communities affected by oppression and injustice. We will be stopping in communities and churches to talk about the realities of oppression and injustice, food shortages and the lack of educational opportunities for the communities Venture serves.
Your dollars donated will go towards the following:
$10 provides 100 meals for a refugee along the border.
$300 provides education to a child for a year.
$300 provides shelter and clothing for a child for a year.
For those individuals, families, and companies making a donation to my cause, I will dedicate specific miles in your name. For company’s wishing to sponsor me, Your companies name will be added to the back of my Jersey for those to see, along my route. Please help me as I help others.
